CR SD60 #6840 East Hornell NY

One a hub of activity in its Erie Lackawanna heyday, Hornell Yard in the Conrail era saw use mostly as a car storage facility. The former EL shop complex at this date was being used by Morrison-Knudsen to refurbish commuter rail cars. Eastbound BUOI, behind CR SD60 #6840, an SD40-2, and a GE CW40-8 are seen leaving East Hornell NY. The scenic Canisteo River Valley lies ahead.
