A hill to climb1 viewsEastbound D&H Sea-Land doublestack train SLN-8 struggles up Attica Hill with two B&M bluebird GP38-2s bracketing an ex-D&H (nee-RDG) GP39-2 in fresh Guilford paint. SLN-8's circuitous CSX-B&P-D&H-NYS&W routing and varied motive power assignments were a joy to Western NY railfans. The train carried the symbol DTV8 while utilizing trackage rights over Conrail's Southern tier Line between Buffalo and Binghamton.

NS C30-7 #8004 SK Yard Buffalo NY4 viewsNS C30-7 #8004 awaits permission to enter D&H's SK Yard in Buffalo NY with an incoming freight. In the background, B&O GP40-2 #4151 waits on the Bison Runner with an eastbound Sea-Land intermodal train. NYS&W was the designated operator of the D&H during this time frame, and every railfan trip to the yard brought pleasant surprises.
