High Green on Sandpatch339 viewsClouds of blue diesel exhaust testify to the effort involved in moving tonnage up Sandpatch grade. A mixed quartet of second generation geeps, representing all three Chessie System component roads, shatters the morning stillness of nearby Meyersdale PA as they struggle relentlessly toward the summit. The Clear signal indication is certainly a welcome sight to the crew.

ULAURBE passes the SCMRBE338 viewsULAURBE passes the SCMRBE at North Bow, both on their way to Roberts Bank coal port. The SCM lost its DPU's and had to back into Bow siding and wait for a 3 unit set of 2nd generation power to help shove it north over the 1% grades out of Bellingham.BCR4601

BNSF SB General Merchandise338 viewsBNSF 6570, 6656(ES44C4's) and 749(D9-44CW) lead a string of general merchandise across Olathe, Kansas on 9/21/2014. This train is leaving the TransCon to join the south bound tracks formerly owned by the Frisco and MKT which runs south through Kansas and on to Texas. This is a connector line that was rebuilt by BNSF soon after the merger with the ATSF to allow trains originating in the old ATSF yard in Kansas City to join the old Frisco line running south out of Kansas City.gdavies

BNSF WB Feed Train326 viewsBNSF 5101, CP 9514 and BNSF 7125 on a west bound loaded feed train.
The cars are standard rotary gon coal cars with a retractable cover over the load.
I believe this train is headed to Texas with either chicken feed or poultry feed. The CP 9514 was running off miles on the BNSF and had been in the area for several weeks.gdavies
